WTF is the cloud?

I've wondered about this for a long time and feel like I might finally have a definition or description.  Here goes: The cloud is a collection of services and resources that are available through on the internet and intended for consumer use.  Specifically, the cloud is a collection of services that are offered to people and organizations through the internet.  The main benefits of cloud services are convenience, total availability, robust backup and uptime.  Said differently, it's resources that someone else owns that we can use--usually for a price...
